Powering Your Carbon Monoxide Detectors

carbon monoxide safety

Make sure you have the right batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

  • Most smoke detector and carbon dioxide detector manufacturers recommend not using rechargeable or rechargeable lithium batteries in their products. Always double check your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector instruction manuals and manufacturer’s recommendations before making the right battery selection. When in doubt, do not use rechargeable or rechargeable lithium batteries in your detectors.
  • Paleblue batteries do not have the same output performance as alkaline which means that product that anticipate a similar performance (specifically voltage output and decay of voltage throughout the discharge cycle) will not perform optimally or possibly even correctly.
  • Safety first everyone: when in doubt, double check or contact the manufacturer of your detector to get their advice.

Be safe out there!
