Self-Discharge: The dormant / self discharge characteristics of Pale Blue batteries are very low. This is one of the advantages of a lithium ion battery with a control circuit, vs an alkaline or NiMh battery, where the cell discharges directly into the circuit (no control circuit). The battery life in dormant mode depends partly on the environment. High ambient temperatures, and higher humidity, increases the internal drain. But in normal circumstances a battery installed in a device, like a door lock, will last ~12 months.

Worth buying!

So far as I can tell, these batteries a superior to alkaline or ni-cad batteries. I haven’t had a chance to really put them through “the test” but since charging them I’ve been using two of the four in a computer mouse, and they are still going strong, where as alkalines would have shown some level of diminished power by now. Definitely worth buying them!

Very Close to Perfect

I have several sets of 4 AA batteries that I use in photography with flashes, triggers and receivers. I am very happy to see the use of Lithium Ion for the higher voltage, faster recharging and extended use at full voltage. I have used NiMh AA batteries for years and am much happier with the capabilities of the Pale Blue version.

There are a couple of suggestions I have...

Use a type "C" USB connector for charging. Not a big deal, but anything that will make it easier to connect the batteries to the charger will help.

Make the batteries with a higher capacity. By photo industry standards, the 1500 mAh is low for the kind of use photo equipment is subject to. There are a couple of other brands on the market that have a higher capacity - 2600 to 3000 mAh - that will last longer in use.

Of the sets of batteries I own, I have had 2 (two) batteries that would not take a charge. PaleBlue was very quick and apologetic in replacing the units, but I'm thinking a check on quality control might be in order.

I have 3 trail cameras that take 8 AA each. They went through Alkaline batteries in 5 weeks. The Pale Blue AAs last 2 months, and then I charge them again. Thank You Pale Blue!
